Review 2014 – A Fresh Look At German Foreign Policy

“Review 2014 – A Fresh Look At German Foreign Policy”, proposed an open debate addressing the questions: “What is wrong with German foreign policy?” and “What about it needs to change?” Such a debate, required a logo that made people think by challenging their perspective. For this we turned to the work of Buckminster Fuller and his Dymaxion Map: the first map of its kind to offer an equally distorted view of the world’s surface when laid flat.

In light of the Review, and the original idea behind the Dymaxion Map, we kept the logo design minimal. To do this, we stripped the map down, leaving two key elements: a direct view of the continental chain, and a clear outline of Fuller’s unorthodox map projection. In the end, the logo achieved its main objective: illustrating a new perspective on the world, and a new perspective on German Foreign Policy.
