In 2010, the announcement of modifications to Stuttgart’s central train station caused a public uprising. Over the years, various demonstrations were held protesting the controversial on-going project. “Stuttgart 21” saw demonstrations with over 50,000 “Wutbürger” or “angry citizens” demanding a stop to the project. This display of public action caused increased interest and awareness of citizen participation.
Today the “voice of the people” has gained power and momentum worldwide. Similar to “Stuttgart 21”, courageous participants are fighting back against such causes as oppression, lack of transparency, corruption, conspiracy, and megalomania. We at Lucid want to share this “voice”. Our animation for BürgerForum 2011, provides accessible, upfront information concerning the requirement for increased public participation and awareness. Change happens when we work together.
